  • The program consists of 17-19 year olds preparing for college.

  • Designed to foster financial literacy.

  • Students receive laptops and financial aid after completion of the course.

  • Each student will receive a scholarship towards a school of their choosing.

Youth Workforce Initiative:

New to the Family Life Center this year is our youth work program. Our goal for this new program was to hire young adults, ages 14 to 15, and prepare them for their future.

  • Our mission was to expose young adults to a work environment and prepare them for a successful career.

  • We hired 30 young employees to work and attend classes for the summer.

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays were designated classroom days.

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays were designated work days for the youth.

Our main goal is to create a better tomorrow, and this program does just that. This initiative taught young adults about the importance of hard work, which will empower them to create a better future for not only themselves, but for others as well.

Community Garden:

The Family Life Center is passionate about city of Canton Ohio. We care about the people who live in our community, and we strive to make this a better place to live. This is why we maintain two large community gardens. We want to teach the local community about sustainability, and what it means to live off of the land. Not only do we teach people how to farm the soil, but we also share the produce with those in need.
